PdfDocShift ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data required to provide our service:

• Files you upload: Files are stored in encrypted cloud storage for up to 2 hours, then permanently deleted. We do not read, index, analyse or share the contents of your files.
• Anonymous session identifier: A temporary session token (stored in a browser cookie or header) ties your uploads and conversion jobs to your browser session. It contains no personal information and expires when your session ends.
• Usage logs: Server logs may record your IP address, browser type, HTTP request method and response codes for security and performance monitoring. Logs are retained for up to 30 days.
• Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. aggregated page view counts) to understand how the service is used. No individual-level tracking or cross-site tracking is performed.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To process your file conversion requests and serve you the converted output.
• To enforce usage limits (rate limiting) and protect against abuse.
• To monitor service health, debug errors and improve performance.
• To display contextually relevant advertising via Google AdSense (see Section 5).

3. File Retention and Deletion

All uploaded files and converted output files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 2 hours of upload. We do not retain backups of user files. If you need your output file, please download it before the 2-hour window expires.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties except:

• Infrastructure providers: Cloud storage and compute providers (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud) that process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.

5. Cookies

PdfDocShift uses necessary cookies for core service functionality and Google Analytics cookies to monitor site performance and improve our tools. No third-party marketing or advertising cookies are used.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS with 256-bit TLS encryption. Files are stored in AES-256 encrypted storage. We follow industry-standard security practices and limit access to user data to authorised systems only.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of PdfDocShift after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
