How to Convert PowerPoint to PDF β 3 simple steps
PowerPoint presentations often look different on computers that lack the right fonts or PowerPoint version. Converting to PDF locks your slides exactly as designed β fonts, colours, images and layout β so every viewer sees the same thing regardless of their device or software.

Why Convert a PowerPoint Presentation to PDF?
PDFs are the safest format for sharing presentations. A .pptx file requires PowerPoint or a compatible viewer β open it on a different version of Office, in Google Slides, or on a device without Office installed, and your fonts may substitute, layouts may shift, and animations may behave unexpectedly. Converting to PDF eliminates all of those variables. The recipient sees exactly what you designed. PDFs also cannot be accidentally edited, and they open instantly in any browser or PDF viewer without installing any additional software.
Do Animations and Transitions Appear in the PDF?
No β animations and slide transitions are interactive features that PDFs do not support. Each slide is rendered as a static page in the output PDF, showing the slide as it appears in its final state (with all animated elements visible as if the animation had completed). If your slide has elements that fly in sequentially, all of them will appear together on the PDF page. If you need to show a progressive reveal in a PDF context, the best approach is to duplicate the slide at each stage before converting, creating a multi-page sequence in the output.
File Size: What to Expect
Presentation PDFs can be surprisingly large because each slide is essentially a high-resolution image. A 20-slide deck with full-bleed background photos can easily reach 10β30 MB. If the output file is too large for email, run it through Compress PDF immediately after conversion β Medium compression typically reduces presentation PDFs by 50β70% with no visible quality loss for on-screen viewing. For print-quality handouts, use High compression or no compression at all.
